The latest news arrives from the house of Versace! They are launching a fragrant edition which is being prepared for 2011 and it will be advertised by model Lindsey Wixson.
The new fragrance is named Vanitas and it will be available in three sizes – 30, 50 and 100 ml EDT. We can expect a luminous and fresh composition, created of shiny notes of lime, floral wave of tiare and freesia along with a pleasant and sensual trail of tonka and woody accords of cedar.
Advertising poster has already been presented – 16 year old Lindsay is posing for it. She was born on April 11th 1994 and is already working as American model. She was born in Wichita, Kansas.
Gertrude Jekyll would have thrown down her pruning shears in horror; and Alan Titchmarsh would probably be doubled up with laughter in the herbaceous border, but the Italian fashion duo of Dolce & Gabbana have staked a claim to the English country garden as inspiration for their latest collection.Gardening - and all the relevant tools and paraphernalia that goes with it - was the theme of the two designers' younger, diffusion line, called D&G, which was shown at Milan Fashion Week this afternoon (Thursday).Most keen British gardeners pull on their oldest T-shirts and trousers when they head out for a day of dead-heading and digging.
The D&G models, however, came down a catwalk planted with lavender, dahlias and roses, in the prettiest and most fashionable, but highly unlikely gear for a spot of weeding and hoeing : floral maxi-dresses, gingham bikinis, and canvas bloomers. They held bags stuffed with trowels, miniature watering cans, and D&G pink and purple gardening gloves, and wore red and green rubber "wellies" with four-inch platform soles.
The light-hearted fantasy took in hydrangea-printed shorts-suits, floral aprons over gingham bloomers, and linen dungarees with freesia-print bib-fronts. T-shirts were printed with images of "Snow White" in a garden, surrounded not by garden gnomes, but some of the Seven Dwarves.
Perfectly suited for a garden party were a host of frilled and flounced chiffon dresses, printed with a mix of violets, roses and mimosa, worn with matching, floral-print, basket-weave, platform sandals, and bandanas.
Milan Fashion Week continues today (Thursday) with the collection by Miuccia Prada, the high-priestess of status style.
